Facts

Baltic Management, which was started in 1996, is a 4-year international management degree course, which focuses on the Baltic Sea Region (BSR), i.e. the following 10 countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia and Sweden. (Geographically speaking, Norway does not border on the Baltic Sea, but is included in the target region because of Norway’s close economic, cultural and political ties to the other Nordic countries).

Baltic Management is taught completely in English, and learning one language from the BSR (the choice being Norwegian, Polish, Russian and Swedish) is also required. Students from abroad learn German as a foreign language.

Our degree course prepares students for positions in middle management in a broad choice of companies, ranging from banking to manufacturing and information processing; and our graduates work all over the world.

Baltic Management is highly practice-oriented. We expect students to have served a 13-week practical before they join us, and a 1-semester internship is a mandatory part of our curriculum.

The international experience we offer comprises:

- intercultural training,
- excursions (field trips) &
- study or internship semesters abroad.

All of these activities are fully embedded in the curriculum, i.e. credits gained abroad are recognised in Stralsund.

At the end of their studies, students write a final thesis on a topic in line with their career plans. And once the thesis has been defended, the academic degree of ‘Bachelor of Arts’ is conferred.
