Our university is a campus university. That means that all lecture halls, seminar rooms and laboratories as well as the refectory, library, sports facilities and student housing are situated in the park-like area of our university and near the river Strelasund – offering a marvellous view of the Isle of Rügen.
Whether you’re an undergraduate student and it’s your first time away from home, or a postgraduate student with a family, we can help find the right accommodation for you.

This is what a BMS student has to say about Holzhausen:
Hello, my name is Maria. I stayed at Holzhausen for the first four semesters of my studies before leaving for my semester abroad. Living in Holzhausen turned out to be great, and I would like to share some of the advantages with you.
Since you are from abroad, the biggest incentive might be to have an already organized accommodation, with furniture, internet and mostly even kitchen equipment already in place. With around 180 Euros per month it is reasonably priced, including water, heat etc (yet excluding internet, which is an additional 20 Euros per Semester). There might be cheaper options in the city center yet it might be harder to find a place when you are still abroad.
Apart from organizational matters, living in Holzhausen has a few more things working in its favour: It is literally only a few yards away from all university buildings, therefore enhancing the chances that you go to the lectures and you can just walk home in case of break-time in the schedule. Holzhausen is also kick-starting your social life in Stralsund, as you will instantly know your flatmates and, as time passes by, everyone else of the almost 300 inhabitants.
Social life is also the buzzword for another advantage: If you want, your flat will become the meeting point for all your friends before going to the notorious Mensa-Party (twice per semester), Haus 8 parties (every other Thursday), Campus Spektakel, cinema, dancing classes and all other events which take place on the campus. So settle in Holzhausen, get a bike organized and you will get all the perks for living at the campus, yet you will be in the city center within 10-15 minutes. Have fun!
